TRAINING SEMINAR

16–17 May 2017
Manama, Bahrain
Given tight refinery margins, learn how to implement computerised decision support systems to improve operational efficiency and economic performance.

Oil refineries worldwide are facing increasing competition and complexity of both technical and commercial issues. Agile operations are required to cope with the high dynamics of petroleum products markets. Taking the right decisions under multiple constraints and tight schedule is becoming a challenge which justifies the use of sophisticated decision support tools.
The course shall review the most common financial challenges of oil refineries to introduce hardware and software technologies that can effectively improve the net margin, from sensors to ERP. A specific detailed analysis shall be performed for the following key decision support systems:

  • Planning
  • Scheduling
  • Oil accounting, including losses estimates
  • Logistics: tank farm, blending, shipping
  • Performance monitoring
Projects implementation issues shall be covered including contractual terms, budget, contingencies, execution schedule, acceptance testing and other subjects specific to decisions support systems.
